Information we collect

When you sign up to download WatCoreLite, we collect:

• Your name, business name, and (optionally) a short description of your business
• Your email address
• Whether you've opted in to product updates and offers

When you activate a license inside the app, we also store a one-way cryptographic hash of a Windows machine identifier for the device you activated on. This hash can't be reversed to identify your device or personal information — it exists only so we can recognize that device on future license checks and enforce the number of devices your license covers.

Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics (via Firebase) to understand traffic — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are located (country/city level), device type, and how visitors found the site. This sets a cookie in your browser so repeat page views during a visit can be recognized as one session. We use this only in aggregate, to understand how the site is used — it isn't linked to your name or email unless you separately sign up (a distinct, unrelated flow), and we don't use it for advertising or share it with advertisers. The admin panel (/admin) is excluded from this tracking. You can opt out by blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

What we don't collect

The website doesn't use advertising cookies or sell data to advertisers — see "Website analytics" above for the one exception. The desktop app stores your business data (invoices, customers, stock, etc.) locally in a database on your own machine — we never see or receive it. As part of normal operation, the app makes a small number of automatic, anonymous check-ins with our server:

• License check-ins (license key, machine hash, and timestamp) — confirm your license is still valid, roughly every day or two while the app is in use.
• Trial verification (machine hash and product ID only — no license key or personal information) — even during your free trial, before any license exists, the app confirms with our server when your trial actually started, so the trial period can't be reset by reinstalling the app or clearing its local data.
• In-app notifications (license key if you have one, otherwise none, plus product ID) — the app periodically checks for relevant announcements (e.g. a trial-ending reminder or a product update) to show you inside the app.

None of these check-ins include anything from your actual business data.

How we use this information

• To unlock your download and issue and email your license key
• To verify and activate your license on your device(s)
• To provide support if you contact us
• To send product updates and offers, only if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe any time

We don't sell your information to anyone.

Where it's stored

Your information is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Functions). Transactional emails (license keys, activation codes) are sent through Resend. Both providers act only on our instructions and don't use your data for their own purposes. Payments are processed by Paddle.com, acting as our authorized reseller and merchant of record — see our Terms for details.

Your rights

You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time, and you can opt out of marketing emails whenever you like using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.
