This policy explains what information Web App Techie ("we", "us") collects through watcore.webapptechie.com and the WatCoreLite desktop app, and how we use it.
Information we collect
When you sign up to download WatCoreLite, we collect:
- Your name, business name, and (optionally) a short description of your business
- Your email address
- Whether you've opted in to product updates and offers
When you activate a license inside the app, we also store a one-way cryptographic hash of a Windows machine identifier for the device you activated on. This hash can't be reversed to identify your device or personal information — it exists only so we can recognize that device on future license checks and enforce the number of devices your license covers.
What we don't collect
The website doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. The desktop app stores your business data (invoices, customers, stock, etc.) locally in a database on your own machine — we never see or receive it. The only things the app sends to us are the machine hash above and periodic license check-ins (license key, machine hash, and timestamp) to confirm your license is still valid.
How we use this information
- To unlock your download and issue and email your license key
- To verify and activate your license on your device(s)
- To provide support if you contact us
- To send product updates and offers, only if you've opted in — you can unsubscribe any time
We don't sell your information to anyone.
Where it's stored
Your information is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Functions). Transactional emails (license keys, activation codes) are sent through Resend. Both providers act only on our instructions and don't use your data for their own purposes. When billing goes live, payments will be processed by Paddle.com, acting as our authorized reseller and merchant of record — see our Terms for details.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time, and you can opt out of marketing emails whenever you like using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.
