Tracking leads with Enquiries
Log a promising conversation the moment it happens, and follow its status all the way to a decision.
Before you start
An enquiry is the step before a quotation even exists — someone got in touch, asked about something, and you don't yet know if it'll turn into real work. Logging it means that lead lives somewhere other than your memory, or a WhatsApp thread you'll never find again.
Logging one
From Enquiries, click New enquiry. Pick the customer, the date, and — if you use the Products & Services catalog — what they're actually interested in, picked straight from your real catalog rather than typed freehand. No catalog module? A plain notes field covers the same thing.
Following it through
Every enquiry carries a status you update as the conversation moves along: New → Contacted → Quoted → Won or Lost. Glance at your enquiries list and you immediately know exactly which leads are still waiting on you — nothing about "I'll follow up tomorrow" depends on actually remembering to.
Turning it into real business
When they're ready, Create Quote or Create Invoice turns the enquiry straight into one — customer and requested items already filled in. See Converting an enquiry into a quote or invoice for exactly what carries over.
What a customer's enquiry history shows you
Open any customer and you'll see their full story in one place — every enquiry they've raised, and whether it turned into a quotation, an invoice, or nothing at all. It's the difference between guessing how a customer found you and actually knowing.
