How stock tracking works in WatCoreLite
Every movement recorded with a running quantity, plus low-stock and oversell warnings while billing.
Before you start
Every movement is recorded
WatCoreLite never just stores a bare quantity number for a product — it keeps a full ledger of every movement that changed it: opening stock, restocks, manual corrections, sales, and reversed sales from a voided invoice. The current count is always the sum of that history, so you can see exactly how it was reached, not just what it is right now.
Stock deducts at Finalize, not at Draft
Adding an item to a Draft invoice doesn't touch stock yet — the deduction happens when the invoice is Finalized, the same moment it becomes a real, issued document. Voiding a Pending invoice afterward reverses that deduction automatically.
Warnings while billing
With Stock on, the item picker on an invoice or quotation line shows each product's current quantity, and warns — without blocking the sale — if what you're about to bill would take it negative. That check adds up quantities across every line for the same product, not just one line at a time, so two separate lines for the same item that together oversell it still get flagged correctly.
Low-stock alerts
Set a low-stock threshold per product, and items at or below it are flagged automatically wherever stock is shown — including the Stock Report.
