Moving WatCoreLite to a new computer
Transfer your business data to a new machine safely, without losing your license.
Getting a new machine, or setting up WatCoreLite on a second one, is a straightforward two-part move: your data, and your license.
1. Export your data on the old machine
In Settings → Backup & transfer, use Export data to save a full backup file. Copy it to the new machine by USB rather than emailing it — it isn't encrypted and contains real customer and financial records. Full details in Backing up and restoring your WatCoreLite data.
2. Install WatCoreLite on the new machine
Download and run the installer the same way as any fresh install — see Installing WatCoreLite if you haven't done this before.
3. Activate your license
From Settings → Licensing, enter the license key from your original subscription email — see How to activate your WatCoreLite license for the confirmation-code step.
4. Import your data
Once activated, go back to Settings → Backup & transfer and use Import data, pointing it at the backup file you copied over. Your customers, invoices, and full history are back exactly as they were — the import restores your business data without disturbing the license you just activated on this machine.
