Setting up direct email sending
Send invoices and quotations straight to a customer's inbox with one click, using your own email account — Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Zoho, or a custom domain.
Direct email sending sends an invoice or quotation straight to a customer's inbox with one click — no downloading a PDF and attaching it by hand. It sends through your own email account, so it genuinely comes from your own address, the same as if you sent it yourself. It's entirely optional and off by default; the "download and attach it yourself" option described in how sharing and printing work keeps working exactly as it always has, whether or not you set this up.
Pick your provider
Settings → Direct email sending includes a provider dropdown — Gmail, Outlook/Office 365, Yahoo, Zoho Mail, or Custom — that fills in the right SMTP server and port for you. Whichever you pick, you'll also need the email address to send from, and its username and password.
The one gotcha: use an App Password, not your real one
Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo all reject your normal account password over SMTP. You'll need to turn on 2-Step Verification (2FA) on the account first, then generate an App Password from its security settings — that's the password to paste into WatCoreLite, not your everyday login. Some work/school Office 365 accounts have SMTP disabled entirely by an administrator; ask them if sending fails there.
Turning it on
Fill in the From Address, SMTP Host, Port, Username, and Password, then use Send a test email to confirm the connection actually works before relying on it for a real customer. Turning the feature on is rejected if any of those fields are left blank, so it can never end up half-configured.
