Keyboard shortcuts and rapid billing
Start an invoice, scan product codes line after line, and print — without ever reaching for the mouse. Built for a busy retail or restaurant counter.
A retail counter or restaurant during a rush can't stop to click through menus for every sale. WatCoreLite has a small set of keyboard shortcuts built specifically for that — going from a walk-in customer to a printed bill without ever reaching for the mouse. Look for the Shortcuts button next to the notification bell on any page — it shows the full list any time you forget it.
Jump straight to a new invoice or quotation
- N — starts a new invoice, from anywhere in the app
- Q — starts a new quotation, from anywhere (if the Quotations module is on)
- ? — opens the shortcuts list
None of these fire while you're typing into a text field, or while any dialog is open on top of the page — so a customer name that happens to contain "n" or "q" can never accidentally trigger one.
Scan or type your way through line items
On an invoice or quotation's line items, type a product's code and press Enter — it fills in that line and automatically adds a fresh, already-focused line right below it, ready for the next code. Keep going: code, Enter, code, Enter, item after item, without ever touching the mouse. A USB barcode scanner works exactly the same way, since all it does is type the code for you, faster than a keyboard could.
Print with one keystroke
Once you're viewing the invoice or quotation itself, pressing P prints it immediately with whichever format you used last time — A4, or an 80mm/58mm receipt slip — with no preview dialog in the way. See how sharing and printing work for the full rundown on choosing a print format.
